That brought tears to my eyes. This is how I see (in my mind) our place in the universe, so to have it so beautifully rendered touches me profoundly. Thank you so much for this gift today.
May your holiday be wonderful.

Hey, I know you're on an internet break, but I thought I'd let you know that you're nominated for the first annual Milwaukee County Teen Book Award, for Graceling.

with the perspective that we are so small and insigificant in the whole scheme of things... why does anything matter all? why in all of 'this'... are we here?

So, when I think of how small earth is in the scheme of things, I usually think how insignificant we are. But THIS was actually the complete opposite. It was inspiring, definitely gets the wheels turning in this brain of mine...

That video was AMAZING. And just the thing to bring a bit of peace and serenity to me at the moment. Thank you Kristin, for sharing that with us! I hope your holiday is full of love and happiness! :)

And randomly, my security letters write 'tothejug' which made me think of Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas. It's a ridiculously cute movie, if you haven't seen it.

Hi Kristin,
I was wondering if you used any playlists as inspiration to get you in the zone when writing Graceling & Fire? If so, could you post these playlists on your blog so we can get a deeper glimpse into your perceptions of the characters & your intent on how/why the storyline resulted as such? It's just fascinating seeing how artists and writers like yourself go from one point of inspiration (through music perhaps) to other creations of art such as your books, for instance. Thanks so much! (:

Hey Kristin,
I just found your books on Amazon and was so surprised that my old high school friend is now a published author. Congrats! I am so thrilled for you. Of course, I went right out and bought them :). I hope you had a great holiday season. Look me up if you get the chance (jtarrach@gmail.com).

Have you seen the movie Avatar? Watching the animals in the movie made me think of the monsters in Fire. So brightly colored, beautiful ... you should see the movie, the computer generated images are AMAZING!
