Your answer? (Don't forget, I only see comments made at my Blog Actual.)
On Monday, I hope to answer a few FAQs!

I run straight to my laptop to check my email. I'm in the middle of querying agents right now! Then I make chai.
i stay in bed for an hour. i can never be bothered getting up out of bed. until i remember i have school that day. i could spend all day in my bed reading and eating junk food.
boring, probably, but:
... brush my teeth, then see if I have enough time to go for a cig.
(yes, I usually get up with not much time to spare :) )
... wish I could go back to sleep!
I usually get up ungodly early with my 2 year old.
Let's be honest: pee. THEN email.
I beat my alarm clock senseless with my pillow and grab my laptop and blanket and steal away to the living room couch where I cuddle up with Po(my laptop) and write and surf the web.
-Ashley (I've gotten a different blog/journal. I'm on blogger now! Yay! lol)
I desperately try to get out of bed - it's hard. I'm not really a morning person. ;)
Well...it's probably TMI, but the first thing I do is pee (sorry)...but then I make my bed (haphazardly) and rush around like a mad woman trying to not be late - again. :)
Roll around for a few minutes, then pick up a book and read a couple chapters. I always wake up earlier than I have to.
...go for a run. Can't fully wake up without it. (Wish I could stay in bed, though...)
Check my email on my blackberry, then come to the back of the house and reply to things from my computer. It takes me a while before I can gear up to make coffee, even.
I brush my teeth, then walk the dogs. Graham would prefer I skip the toothbrushing, but that's why I'm in charge.
When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is toss, turn, groan for the day I know lies ahead(especially if I have school), and stay in bed for as long as I possibly can without being late. (Most of the time I am late).
grab my book and read until my mom comes in and yells that i'm going to be late for school!
eat breakfast. I don't know how those who skip breakfast can do it.
The very first thing I do is pull up the window shade to get some daylight into the room. That helps me wake up.
...go into the den where the cats are waiting and adjust the blinds so that they'll be happy with the view. They love to watch all the birds and small creatures. Then I go pee and feed them.
Feed the cats. They bite me awake if I don't.
...remember my dream(s)..then usually try to forget them.
... feed my dogs and let them go out to pee ;)), then make coffee and read my email and my bloglines while I drink it and after than, get ready to go to work ;)
Remind myself that I'm a writer :o) then I go pee.
go for a bike ride when no one is out. it is really peaceful
I usually stand up,prepare coffee, get dress, drink coffee and then I run out of the house toward university cause I don't like being late!
Turn off my alarm clock (cannot wake up without it!). Push my dog off the bed (where she's not supposed to be). Read my email on my phone. Then it's either getting ready for work or school or orchestra.
COFFEE.
Oooo.. I have to get up early. So I have to turn off my 'practice' alarm first. Then hit snooze once. I set it up so that I think I'm sleeping in, but still get up in time to get ready!
Then coffee! Four cups!
... grab a book and squeeze in a few pages before getting ready.
1. I moan.
2. I wonder why the curtains are up and sunlight is streaming in.
3. I am about to blame my mom.
4. Then I remember that I put them up the day before so they could get me up in just this kind of situation.
5. I ignore the curtain warning, and pick up the book I was reading last night before bed.
6. Or, I get up and try to creep out quietly, so my brother won't wake up and badger me: "can you play with me, can you play with me, can you play with me? pleassee??"

The First Thing I Do When I Wake Up:
~Go around feeding all of my darned (but loveable) animals, so they won't screech and howl at me. This lovely menagerie includes a wonderful toad, an annoying fish, and a cuuuuteeeee black and white dutch bunny named Sebastian! (who thumps if I don't feed him)
~Greening Grandemalion
Replace the bands in my mouth (ugh, braces) and put some clothes on. :]
... make my dog his breakfast.
Make myself a cup of tea and read for about 30 minutes before starting my day.
Today, like every other day, we wake up empty/and frightened. Don't open the door to the study/and begin reading. Take down a musical instrument.//Let the beauty we love be what we do./There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.

// = new stanza

I write for thirty minutes every day, even if it's nonsense. It's been excellent practice.
...go to the bathroom.
Put on my glasses OR take a shower/wash my face and put in my contacts! :-)
I go back to sleep after hurling my alarm at my mother, but eventually i wake up and I usually am still too asleep to drive to school.
but for the past few days,
I've been reading Graceling in the morning. it's so beautiful :)))
... remind my pets that I am the human and therefore they need to move so I can get out from under the covers.
Every single morning. It's good to be so loved. (Or maybe I need to turn the heat up a bit?)
turn off my alarm (i never press snooze...haha, i cant actually fall asleep after it goes off but i sure try.) eat...and then feed my rabbit
I pray to God. Sometimes thanking Him for a new day first. Sometimes desperately praying for help to make it through. Then a shower.
feed the chickens, feed the dogs, feed the kids (in that order).
Look the clock
I'm loving the responses. I remember the day when I had to deal with my braces first thing. JA, thanks for the beautiful Rumi!
The very first thing more like than not, is kiss my perfect feline bedmate Ari. Then I hide my fingers from said lap-lion because otherwise he sucks on them. Meanwhile, the donkey stands directly outside my bedroom (yes, he actually knows which room I'm in) and brays in the window to make sure I'm aware that he's starving and on the brink of death. :)
I make my bed while I'm in it.. Sounds strange, but believe me, it can be done-- and well at that ;) I then go to the bathroom.

Turn off the "fire alarm" sounding alarm clock that has gone off about 5 times, then tell my cat "Hello."
Turn off the alarm and take a shower, unless it's this morning and I wake up an hour late and have to skip the shower (and everything else).
Try to savor the warmth from under my covers AND most importantly make sure it is time to get up, for I have several times gotten up thinking it was time and when I get out of the shower, it would be 3 o'clock in the morning! ;}
Smile because I usually wake up to my son's coos. Then I change his diaper.
1.) Hit snooze on alarm 1, but don't sleep.
2.) Stretch, taking my time.
3.) Turn off alarm, and get up.
4.) Start the day with a bowl of Lucky Charms, then World Civilizations I class.
Candelion - I totally make my bed while I'm in it too!! Haha! And it CAN be done! :)
I shower, grab a coffee, switch on laptop and sit on the back porch watching the sunrise, whilst writing in the shade. Then I melt in the Cyprus August sun.
I try and grab onto the fleeting images of what ever crazy assed dream my alarm just rescued me from. I have never been able to articulate any plot or characters, just vague feelings and occasional dessert platters.
I turn on my computer and then find something else to do until the bubbles screen saver comes on. Then I start typing.
Still loving these responses. And I also make my bed while I'm in it sometimes :o)
Um.... Well I roll over ( if I'm lucky not on to the floor) then look out my window. After that I look at my sisters bed and if she's there tell her to shut her yap( she never stops talking and likes to talk really load in the mornings) then check the colck if it past 8 o'clock I'll jump up throw on the frost thing I touch in my closet. Then go sit on my bed read whatever book is sitting on the nightstand from the night before foe 10 min. Then go down stairs and get food.
So are you going to make Graceling into a series.
P.S. My name is Grace (cool huh?)
